The Cuban Street Dance: SALSA
The principal dancers from AFROMANBO DANCE COMPANY are used for workshops.
Vincent Moyce
Vincent began his popular & successful classes and workshops in Johannesburg in 2005 after returning to Africa from a 5 year sojourn in New Zealand –where he won New Zealand's 2000 Salsa Dance Competition.
In New Zealand, Vincent was exposed to many visiting Salsa teachers/dancers from the States, Europe and Cuba which served to develop his very unique and smooth style of dancing Salsa. Vincent makes this deceptively complex dance ,look easy.
His aim, through AfroMambo Dance Company, is to re-untie the magic of the Latin American dance culture with its roots - the pulsating rhythms of Africa.
He currently performs and teaches with Sonia Burdett.
Sonia Burdette
Best known over the last few years for her teaching and dancing of Argentinean Tango, Sonia has left her own mark in her unique interpretation of this dance.
The spirit of the dance is exemplified in a style that is: saucy, spicy and sassy.
She teaches & performs with Vincent Moyce in a number of venues around Johannesburg, and is hugely involved in developing a committed and fun loving group of Salsa dancers in South Africa.
Like Vincent she specializes in a blend of LA, New York and Cuban Styles of Salsa. |
